Medicine Cups

Before disposable plastic and pre-measured dosages, nurses used glass medicine cups to dispense liquid medicines. And of course the nurse was responsible for cleaning them before use. The minim glass on the right was for measuring small doses and those that were diluted.

Below is a medicine spoon, whimsically shaped like a whale. It measures 2.75 inches in length and 1 inch in height. Because there were no markings for precise measurement, nurses were exhorted not to use these spoons. But they were used in homes, this one possibly for children.
