Julie Fairman First Nurse Selected to Deliver the Fielding H. Garrison Lecture

On May 11, 2018, AAHN member, Julie Fairman, PhD, RN, FAAN, delivered the Fielding H. Garrison Lecture at the annual meeting of the American Association for the History of Medicine in Los Angeles. Dr. Fairman is the first nurse to be chosen for this honor. Her lecture, “’We Went To Mississippi’: Nurses and Civil Rights Activism” will soon be published in the Bulletin of the History of Medicine.
