During this 1 hour event, we will delve into the rich legacy of Islamic contributions to healthcare. The session will include 2 brief videos that explore the themes: "The Untold Story of Rufaida Al-Aslamia" and "Muslim Nurses in BC: Navigating Islamophobia and Overcoming Challenges in Healthcare." Event Highlights: Discover the inspiring story of Rufaida Al-Aslamia, a pioneering figure in the history of nursing! Engage with the experiences of Muslim nurses in BC as they navigate the complexities of Islamophobia and work to overcome challenges in the healthcare sector. Learn, reflect, and share as we explore concepts of health and healing through a decolonizing lens, challenging traditional forms of knowledge. This webinar offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of the intersection between culture, faith, and healthcare. Attendees will gain insights into the historical and contemporary roles of Muslim nurses, and be encouraged to reflect on ways to create more inclusive and culturally sensitive healthcare environments.
