Thermometers This metal case holds a mercury thermometer. It has a chain so that nurses could attach it to their uniform, along with pens, syringes, forceps, scissors, keys, pocket watch, notepaper, whatever else they wanted to keep handy. Sometimes they would sew a utility bag if their uniforms lacked pockets. |
